Weslaco-Marlynda Louise Roiger passed away peacefully at her home in Weslaco, Texas, on September 11, 2024. She was born on February 28, 1953, in Brandon, Manitoba, Canada. Marlynda was a remarkable individual whose vibrant spirit touched the lives of many throughout her career and personal pursuits.

Marlynda spent her early years in Winnipeg, Manitoba, where she had her children Chris and Ryn. In 1984, while visiting Fargo, North Dakota, Marlynda met the love of her life, Jerry Roiger. Marlynda and Jerry were married on September 22, 1985, and spent the rest of their lives together.

Marlynda found her true calling as a Para Educator with Fargo public Schools, dedicating two decades to teaching the special needs students at Fargo North High.

Beyond her professional life, Marlynda was known for her sense of fashion and style. She found great joy in party and event planning. Marlynda's passion for pleasing people and her natural ability to decorate became well known. As a result, she was responsible for countless successful parties and events over the years, creating priceless memories for friends and guests. 

Marlynda and Jerry spent many years summering at Lee Lake in Hawley, Minnesota. They enjoyed the outdoors and made many lifelong friends who became family. In 2010, after Marlynda's retirement, the couple began wintering in the Rio Grande Valley. They spent many years at the Holiday Village in Pharr before moving to Ranchero Village in Weslaco. 

The Roigers' outgoing personalities made them welcome in every community including Nuevo Progeso, Mexico where she was most recently crowned Tourist Queen. They quickly became friends with almost everyone and established themselves as part of the neighborhood family. 

Marlynda and Jerry shared their love of dance and karaoke. They were often seen lighting up the dance floor. Together, they became well-recognized for their exceptional dance moves and infectious energy. Her personality echoed her vibrant wardrobe, filled with colorful attire and abundant bling, capturing the essence of her fun-loving spirit.

Marlynda's proudest accomplishments were her family; her husband, children, and grandchildren were central to her life. She found joy in helping others and cherished the close friendships she developed over the years.

Marlynda will be remembered for her vibrant, fun, infectious spirit, loving nature, and lasting impact on those around her.

Marlynda is preceded in death by her parents, Nick and Gladys Martin. She is survived by her loving husband and best friend, Gerald "Jerry" Roiger; her son, Chris O'Dell (Rebecca Allard); her daughter, Ryn Bell (Richard); grandchildren, Sawyer, Jayden, Fynn, Kauner, and Kaiden plus numerous other family members and friends that she considered family/familia.
