Marta Moreno

In loving memory of Marta Moreno (Palomarez), a cherished daughter, sister, friend, aunt, wife, and mother. Marta graced this world on a sunny day in Weslaco, TX, on September 27, 1959, and peacefully departed to her eternal rest on February 25, 2024, at Valley Baptist Medical Center in Harlingen, TX.

Marta's warm and welcoming personality left a lasting impression on everyone she encountered. Her gift for uniting people through her culinary delights was remarkable. In her kitchen, fragrant aromas always filled the air as she lovingly prepared meals for her loved ones. Marta's renowned dishes, including her delectable spaghetti, comforting chicken & dumplings, and flavorful menudo, were beloved by all who tasted them.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Manuel and Cruz, and her beloved sisters Rosa and Corina.

She is survived by her devoted husband of 44 years, Blaz. Their union blessed them with a beautiful daughter, Yvonne.  She also leaves behind a large extended family who will deeply mourn her passing. Among them are siblings Juan (Blanca), Rosa+ (Noe), Yolanda (Rogelio), Armando (Alma), Alicia (Noe+), Sulema, and Corina+, as well as numerous nieces and nephews who held a special place in her heart.

Marta's life was lived with love, laughter, good food, and cherished moments shared with those she held dear. The sudden departure of Marta deeply saddens her family, and the weight of her absence is keenly felt by all. A memorial honoring Marta's life will take place in the fall, and we will ensure that all friends and family are informed.
