Edinburg/Weslaco- Mary Ann Bell, 97, passed away on Monday, February 18th, 2019 at John Knox Village in Weslaco. She was born on July 11, 1921, to John Lambert and Iva Cannon Lambert, where she grew up and graduated high school. Soon after high school, she visited her sister in Michigan and met her future husband, Tully "Jake" Helm Bell. She and Jake raised two children, Nancy and Ronald. They moved to Edinburg for Jake's health in 1945, where they raised their three children. Ronald opened a mechanic shop and after the children were grown, Mary Ann worked at Pan American University as a librarian for many years. She was also a faithful member and volunteer of the First Baptist Church in Edinburg. Mary Ann is preceded in death by her parents, John and Iva Lambert, husband, Tully "Jake" Helm Bell, son, Roger Bell, granddaughter, Amy Cohrs, brothers, George Lambart, L.C. Stewart, and Nick Lambart, sisters, Eileen Reynolds, and Dee Dee Harris. She is survived by her children, Nancy Cohrs (Richard) of Alamo, Ronald Bell (Betty) of Arkansas, grandchildren, Lance Edward Bell (Susan), Becki Bell, Amanda Jenkins (Cameron), Johnathon Cohrs (D'Anne) and Daryl Cohrs (Laura), numerous great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild, daughter in law Judy Bell, and numerous nephews and nieces.
