Mary Diane Hoelscher

PHARR - We regretfully announce the passing of Mary Diane Hoelscher on Thursday February 9^th. Diane was surrounded by her family and passed away peacefully after battling cancer.

Diane was born May 7, 1941, to Charles and Nora Ruffing in Elgin, Illinois. At a young age, Diane with her sisters Barbara and Elizabeth (Betsy), brother Charles (Buddy) and parents, moved to Weslaco, Texas. She graduated from Weslaco High School in 1959.  She worked at Cardenas Insurance for several years before proceeding to earn a bachelor’s and a master’s degree in Business Administration and Education.  Diane was a cherished and dedicated teacher at Weslaco High School for 30+ years. 

Diane was a loving mother of her four daughters Christine, Carrie, Amy, and Joanna (Jaime). She was a strong woman who faced every challenge in her life with courage and dignity. We will remember her for her love of cats and her collection of angels in all forms.  Diane will be deeply missed by all who knew her.

Diane is survived by her nine grandchildren: Jessica (Randy), Denee (Jesse), Angela (Bo), Amanda (Clint), Megan, Kassandra, Victoria, Justin(Chelsea), and Donovan; and her nine great-grandchildren: Bailey, Annalise, Avea, Nolan, Josiah, Everly, Dallas, D’Amariz and Tyson.

The viewing will be held Monday February 13, 2023, from 6-8 PM. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Texas Oncology in Weslaco and Gracia Hospice.

Mother, Grandma, and Great-Grandma, you have now joined the angels in Heaven. You will always be in our hearts and we will never forget you. We love you so much. Rest in Peace.
