Weslaco- Miguel “Mike” Cavazos, 63, passed away on Saturday, August 29, 2020. Mike was born on January 25. 1957 to Antonio Cavazos and Consuelo Pacheco Cavazos in Weslaco, Texas. After graduating from Weslaco High School, Mike attended college, but he also helped run the family business, AC Cavazos & Son’s Tortilla Factory. After the family sold their company, Mike went to work for Wal-Mart in Weslaco in the stocking department, unloading trucks in the early morning shift. Mike had to be at work at 4 am most days, but he did this, with a smile on his face and a great attitude, for the next twenty-nine years.
Mike learned work ethic from his family business. He rarely missed work and was a model employee. Mike was friendly and got along well with everyone. When he wasn’t working at Wal-Mart, he always made time to watch the Dallas Cowboys. He was a die-hard fan and never gave up on his beloved team.
Mike was a simple man, kind-hearted, humble, generous, and kind.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Antonio and Consuelo Cavazos, brother, Raymond Cavazos, and niece, Crystal Cavazos.
Mike is survived by his siblings, JR Antonio Cavazos (Rosalinda) of Weslaco, Frances Morales (Osvaldo), of Mission, Lydia Riojas (Reynaldo) of Weslaco, and Rosalinda Cavazos of Weslaco, nephews and nieces, Adriana Soto (Raul), Karen Riojas, Delicia Riojas, Larissa Riojas, Iraceli Riojas, Laura Anguiano (Albert), Balde Morales (Myrna), Melissa Canales (Billy), Jesse Morales (Andrea), Randy Morales (Sara), Kathy Morales, Rhonda Cavazos (Noe Hernandez), Leslie Cavazos, Anthony Ansiso, and Emily Ansiso.
Visitation will be Tuesday, September 1st, 2020 from 10-9pm. There will be a rosary at 7pm, which will be live streamed on https://www.youtube.com/channel/UC42nr8nzdFUVXi4F4F5U_oA.
Funeral service will be Wednesday, September 2nd, 2020, 12pm, at McCaleb Funeral Home with Father Francisco Solis of St Joan of Arc Presiding.
Burial will follow at Highland Memorial Park.
