Morris Earl Cuthbertson 83 of Weslaco, passed away on Sunday December 10, 2023 at McAllen Medical Heart Hospital. Morris was born in Fargo North Dakota on July 18, 1940 to Earl Alexander Cuthbertson and Margeret Robina Morris. He grew up in Amenia North Dakota and graduated from Amenia High School in 1958. He then enlisted in the army serving our Country for 6 years. Upon his discharge from the Army Morris began custom combining in Arkansas and Kansas. He then followed his two younger brothers to the Rio Grande Valley in Texas.
In 1967 he met his future spouse, Onie M. Gorhum. They were United in Marriage on June 28th, 1968. To this union they had one Daughter, Kimberly.
Morris worked for Barbee-Neuhaus a job he truly loved and took pride in. He began his Journey with the company in 1966 where he wore many hats. There wasn't any farm ground or Farmer he did not know in the Rio Grande Valley. After 40 years with the company he made the difficult decision of hanging his Shop Foreman hat up, replacing it with his retirement hat.
Morris enjoyed traveling, listening to his favorite music which was classical, cheering on his favorite football team the Green Bay Packers, watching classic movies, fishing and reading. He also enjoyed spending time or talking on the phone to his granddaughters, great grandchildren, family and close friends.
Morris is survived by his former wife, Onie M. Gorhum-Cuthbertson, daughter Kimberly (Shawn) Puhrmann of Paullina, Iowa, Granddaughter Brandy (Grant) Slater of Boyden Iowa, Amber Miller (Fiancee Taylor) of Emmetsburg Iowa, 7 Great Grandchildren, his Sister in Law Ella R. Cuthbertson of Weslaco Texas, his nephew Kevin Cuthbertson (Jessica) of Aurora CO, his four Siblings, One brother and 3 sisters, numerous nieces, Nephews, Great Nieces and Nephews.
Morris was preceded in death by One Grandaughter, Brittany Hackett of Kingsley IA, his parents, His in-laws Homer and Mayo Gorhum, and his youngest brother Ronald Cuthbertson.
A memorial service will be conducted at a later time.
