Noel Norberto Gallardo

September 13, 1963 — May 26, 2024

Garland, TX

Garland/Weslaco-Noel Norberto Gallardo, a true "Jack of all trades," passed away on May 26, 2024, at Methodist Hospital of Richardson, Texas. Noel was born on September 13, 1963, in Weslaco, Texas, to Francisco and Maria Elena (Martinez) Gallardo. He had four older brothers and a younger sister. The family grew up in Weslaco.

Noel graduated from Weslaco High, where he played football for the Weslaco Panthers. At his sister Norma's wedding, he met his soulmate, Juana Mendoza. Norma thought Noel was a good match for Juana, so she matched them as bridesmaids and groomsmen. Norma was right, and shortly after the wedding, Noel and Juana eloped and moved to Garland, Texas, on January 7, 1996. Noel and Juana spent the rest of their lives together and raised three children. They visited home as often as possible, including a trip to the local Whataburger.

Throughout his life, Noel forged a unique path as a masterful mechanic, and his passion for cars was evident in every project he undertook. Whether restoring classic cars to their former glory, crafting low riders with precision, or mastering intricate bodywork, his expertise was unparalleled. Noel's ability to tackle any task independently was a testament to his resourcefulness and determination. His creative flair and unwavering dedication to his craft ensured his success in every endeavor.

Noel had a range of hobbies and interests that brought him joy. He deeply loved classic cars and lowriders; spending time at "swap meets" exchanging automobile parts brought him immense satisfaction. An avid collector who cherished antiquities found in old stores, he also enjoyed camping and cheering for the Dallas Cowboys during football season. His love for oldies music added rhythm to his days. Noel always had coffee from Whataburger because he never knew when a project would keep him late.

Noel's warm and humorous personality made him a joy to be around. Described as caring, understanding, supportive, and funny, Noel touched the lives of many with his genuine nature, talent, humor, and kind heart.

Noel is preceded in death by his parents, Francisco and Maria Elena Gallardo, his brother, David Gallardo, and sister-in-law, Janette Gallardo.

He is survived by his loving wife, Juana Gallardo; his daughters, Noemi and Gabriela Gallardo; his son, Noah Gallardo; his brothers, Frank Gallardo (Martha Casarez), Alfredo Gallardo (Janette+), Daniel Gallardo, and Juan Delgado (Norma), sister, Norma Linda Gallardo (Ramiro Contreras), granddaughter, Nia Martin, and numerous nieces and nephews.
