MERCEDES - Norma Frances Franklin, 84, of Mercedes, Texas, formerly Norma Frances Spence of Paducah, TX, died peacefully in her sleep on November 6, 2016, at McAllen Medical Center, McAllen, TX. She was born on September 10, 1932, and is predeceased by her parents, Archie and Norma Spence, her husband of 55 years, Ennis Nordyke Franklin, and her first-born grandchild, Michael Landis Marley. Not all angels reside in heaven, some walk on earth. Norma was a loving homemaker and a devout Christian. She was an excellent baker and a passionate reader. She faithfully read the Bible every morning to start her days and every evening to end her nights. She enjoyed visiting and playing card games with her family, baking, sewing and solving crossword puzzles. Loving survivors include her two sons, Marvin Ennis Franklin and Stephen Ellis Franklin, her two daughters, Vivian Ruth Marley and Alice Frances DeBonis, her 5 grandchildren, Jeremy James Liesen, Nickalaus Anthony DeBonis, Ashley Franklin, Alyssa Frances DeBonis, Emanuel Marvin Franklin, and Christopher Marvin Franklin, her daughters-in-law Alma Franklin and Alia Franklin, and her 5 great grandchildren. Visitation services are held Tuesday, November 8th, from 5:00- 8:00 p.m. at McCaleb Funeral Home in Weslaco. Graveside service will be held on Wednesday, November 9th, 2016 10:00 a.m. at Weslaco City Cemetery in Weslaco. Funeral arrangements are under the care of McCaleb Funeral Home of Weslaco.
