Olga Cavazos

WESLACO - Olga Cavazos, 76, passed away on Wednesday, December 18, 2019 at her residence in Weslaco. She was born on Wednesday, February 24th, 1943 in Weslaco, Texas to Policarpio Tijerina and Cira Pina.

Olga graduated from Weslaco High School and was employed for over 11 years in the 1980s with Weslaco ISD in the food service department. She eventually became a dedicated homemaker, caring for her husband, children, and grandchildren.

Olga is preceded in death by her parents, Policarpio and Cira Tijerina and her sister Oralia Guajardo.

She is survived by her loving husband Reinaldo Cavazos Sr., her children Hilda M. Perez (Ivan), Reinaldo Cavazos Jr. (Jessica), Mariann C. Horta (Javier), Jennifer C. Acosta (Isaac), her grandchildren Noah, Jeremy, Lauren, Emma Perez, Rei III, Briana, Mia, Derek, Melody Cavazos, Larisa, Javier Jr., Joshua, Joseph, Jayden Horta and Victoria Acosta and her siblings Teresa Lozano, Guadalupe Lopez and Gerardo Tijerina.

Pallbearers will be Reinaldo Cavazos Jr., Noah Perez, Jeremy Perez, Larisa Horta, Derek Cavazos, and Reinaldo Cavazos III.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, December 19, 2019 from 12:00 pm to 9:00 pm with a 7:00 pm Rosary at McCaleb Funeral Home in Weslaco. Funeral Mass is scheduled for Friday, December 20, 2019, 10:00 am at St. Pius X Catholic Church in Weslaco followed by interment at Weslaco City Cemetery.
