Olga Prado Sanchez

Edinburg- Olga Nereyda Prado Sanchez, 33, passed away on Wednesday, August 19, 2021, at McAllen Medical Center. Olga was born on June 23, 1988 to Carlos Prado and Beatriz Sanchez Prado. Olga was the oldest of six children. She was a flagship student of IDEA Academy, a charter school in Donna, Texas, and the first graduating class. Olga continued her education, earning a Bachelor’s degree in International Business from the University of Texas-Pan American, and began her career in education at her Alma Mater. Olga spent her entire teaching career at IDEA Academy, where she encouraged, mentored, and loved countless students.

Olga was very close to her mom and dad and lived with them all of her life. Olga was also an example and leader to her brothers and sisters, the first in her family to earn a college degree. Olga loved to spend weekends shopping or just relaxing at home with family.

Olga is survived by her parents, Carlos and Beatriz Prado, siblings Victoria Prado of Kentucky, Carlos Prado (Stephanie) of Mt. Pleasant, TX, Everto Prado, Anna Prado, and Ezra Nehemiah Prado, all of Edinburg.

Visitation will be Sunday, August 22, 2021at McCaleb Funeral Home in Weslaco, with a prayer service at 7 pm. On Monday, August 23, 2021, a life celebration at McCaleb Funeral Home, followed by a burial at Sacred Park Cemetery in Mercedes. All services will be live-streamed via youtube/mccalebfuneralhome.
