Pete and his five siblings grew up in Weslaco. After graduating from Weslaco High School, Pete pursued a variety of careers. He spent most of his life truck driving and working for Hidalgo County.
Pedro shared his warmth and humor with all he encountered during his life. Described as cheerful and fond of sharing jokes, he brought joy to those around him. From his professional pursuits, Pedro found solace and enjoyment in various hobbies. Fishing, playing pool, and passionately cheering for the Dallas Cowboys were among his favorite pastimes.
Pete is preceded in death by his parents, Pedro Sr. and Prudencia Ozuna, his brother-in-law, Aurelio Guerra, and niece, Diana Hernandez.
Pedro leaves behind a loving family, including his sons, Pedro Ozuna III and Andrew Ozuna, and his siblings, Sergio Ozuna (Rachel), Maria Guerra (Aurelio+), Frances Villa (Noel), Delicia Montalvo (Luis), and Oralia Ozuna (Mike), and grandchildren, Pedro IV and Amber Ozuna. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews, a testament to the strong bonds he fostered.
In honor of Pedro "Pete" Ozuna Jr., a visitation will be held on May 24, 2024, from 11:00 AM to 9:00 PM, with a Prayer Service at 7:00 PM, at McCaleb Funeral Home in Weslaco. A funeral service will follow on May 25 at 10:00 AM at McCaleb Funeral Home, followed by burial at Weslaco City Cemetery.
May Pedro's light continue to shine brightly in the hearts of those who knew him, celebrating a life well-lived and the legacy of love he leaves behind.
