Weslaco, TX – Pedro "Pete" Sandoval, 51, gained his wings to be with the Lord, Tuesday, August 24, 2021, after a long and difficult battle with COVID-19, at The Hospitals of Providence Transmountain in El Paso, TX. Mr. Sandoval was born April 29, 1970, to Francisco & Maria Del Carmen Sandoval, in Donna, TX. “Pete,” as he was known by many, was first and foremost a man of God. Aside from being a faithful family man, he was a decorated war veteran, who served his country for 20 years in the United States Army Reserves, before his retirement in 2010. Pete was a kind-hearted, meek, respectful, happy giver, who was a hard worker and served his community in many ways. He was loved by many. Pete was a devoted member of the San Martin de Porres Catholic Church and was employed by the Weslaco I.S.D., where he worked as a security guard for Weslaco High School. Although no longer physically present, Pete created a legacy that will outlive the time he shared with us on earth. He is preceded in death by his mother, Maria Del Carmen Sandoval. Pete is survived by his wife, Imelda Sandoval, of Weslaco, TX; 1 son, Pedro Sandoval, Jr., of Weslaco, TX; 3 daughters, Maria Del Carmen Sandoval, Mia Isabella Sandoval, Maia Adamaris Sandoval, all of Weslaco; his father, Francisco Sandoval, of Progreso, TX; 7 brothers, Jaime Sandoval (Araceli), of Progreso, TX, Ramiro Sandoval (Diana) of Port La Vaca, TX, Saul Sandoval (Nora), Samuel Sandoval (Laura), both of Progreso, TX, Rolando Sandoval (Cynthia) of McAllen, TX, Eloy Sandoval of Progreso, TX, and Eli Sandoval (Vanessa) of Weslaco, TX.
Visitation will be Thursday, 5-9 pm, and Friday, 10 am-9 pm, with a rosary at 7 pm, at McCaleb Funeral Home. Mass will be celebrated on Saturday, 12pm, at San Martin de Porres Catholic Church in Weslaco, followed bu burial at Highland Memorial Park.
