Weslaco- Ramiro Garcia, 67, went to be with his Lord on Wednesday, July 3, 2019, at DHR in Edinburg after a lengthy illness. He was born on September 9, 1951, to Cirildo Garcia and Aurora Saucedo Garcia and raised in Weslaco with eleven siblings. After graduating from Weslaco High School, Ramiro became a security guard. Ramiro met his future wife, Maria Gloria in 1979. They were married on January 2, 1982, and spent the rest of their lives together. Ramiro continued to work as a security guard all over the valley for most of his career. His true passion was fire fighting, and Ramiro served as a volunteer firefighter in Weslaco for over 20 years. He enjoyed fishing, watching television, and spending time with his wife and family. Ramiro never met a stranger, and those who knew him will remember his genuine smile and ability to make everyone feel at ease. His friendly personality made him a real joy to be around. Ramiro is preceded in death by his mom, Aurora Garcia, and brother, Francisco "Franky" Garcia. He is survived by his loving wife of 37 years, Maria Gloria Garcia, father, Cirildo Garcia, his brothers, Jose Luis (Melva), David (Delilah), Bacilio (Ernestina), Cirildo Jr. (Práxedes), and Guillermo (Vicenta) Garcia, his sisters, Irma (Pedro) Garcia, Maria Luisa (Rene) Garcia, Tomasita (Robert) Gonzalez, Rosalinda (Ezequiel) Olivarez, and Julia (Guadalupe) Hinojosa. He also had 30 nieces and nephews and 30 great-nieces and nephews. Visitation will be held on Friday, July 5, from 2-9 pm, with a prayer service at 7 pm. Funeral service will be held on Saturday, July 6, 10 am, at Las Palmas Baptist Church in Weslaco.
