Edinburg- Raul Sosa Sr., a beloved father and cherished grandfather, passed away on October 20, 2024, at the Windsor Nursing Home in Edinburg. He was born on January 24, 1945, in Harlingen, where he first embraced life and began creating memories that would last a lifetime.

After graduating from Harlingen High School, Raul enlisted in the US Navy. He served on the USS Lexington for four years, an experience that shaped his character and instilled a lifelong sense of discipline and patriotism.

Raul's dedication to his family was unwavering. He met Frances Cortez at a dance when she was a teenager, and their love story began. They were married on July 2, 1967. Their journey took them from Harlingen to San Antonio and finally to Edinburg, where they have lived for over thirty years. Raul worked in electronics and tv repair for many years. He was contracted by numerous local retailers. Later in life, he became an over-the-road truck driver.

Raul found solace and peace in the tranquility of the water. His passion for fishing provided him with many serene moments and delightful experiences that he joyfully shared with his loved ones.

Raul's journey through life was marked by his unwavering kindness and generosity. Known for his giving, caring, and loving nature, he made a lasting impact on those around him. Family was the cornerstone of his existence, and he delighted in hosting gatherings filled with warmth and laughter. The barbecues he organized brought the family together, creating a cherished ritual that fostered connection and joy among relatives.

Raul's greatest joy was his grandchildren. They brought light and laughter into his life, and he took immense pride in their accomplishments, always eager to support and nurture their dreams.

Raul Sosa Sr. leaves behind a legacy of love and kindness that will continue to resonate in the hearts of those who knew him. He will be profoundly missed and lovingly remembered by all who had the privilege of being part of his life.
