Rene Arce

EDINBURG - Rene Ron (Ronnie) Arce born on November 7, 1958 in Chicago, Illinois to Tomas Arce and Angelica Cortez Arce, passed away peacefully held in God’s loving arms on January 11, 2015 at Amara Hospice Edinburg, Texas. He lived in Chicago until the mids ‘60s and resided in Edinburg until passing away. Ron was educated in Edinburg graduating from Edinburg High School. He returned to Chicago to work at U.S. Steelworks in South Chicago. Once again he returned to Edinburg in early ‘80s and was manager of the Paint House in Edinburg and McAllen. His last years were spent as ranch foreman of TVM properties in Edinburg. Preceeded in death by his father and his half-sister Maria Del Rosario Arce. Survived by his anchoring wife, Irma Diana Mendoza Arce and his only lovely daughter Monica Renee Arce; brothers: Roy, Ruben, Robert, Ricardo (Rick) from Edinburg and Thomas (Brownsville) Arce, half-brothers: Tomas Alberto and Raul Arce (Japan), and half-sister Maria Del Rocio Arce (Little Mary). Ten nephews, seven nieces, God sons Albert Arce and Alex Morin. Also leaves best friends in Chicago to cherish his memory: Mario Arreola, Steve Torres and Kim Yates (TN) and Eddie (Edinburg).Also, left to cherish his memories are numerous cousins and Tony Santana to whom Ron was a father figure and role model. Also, daughter’s friends who were “adopted daughters”: Laura Espinoza, Michelle Hernandez, Claire Cammarat and Brandy Woychesin. Rene Ron Arce was a simple generous man. He was a lifelong devout and loyal Catholic, a son, brother, uncle, cousin, an admiral considerate husband, amazing father, and a trust worthy humble friend. Ron loved to make people laugh and found humor in many situations until the end. Listening to his favorite “jams” and making “the best” bbq (wings) will always be remembered. He was never too busy to answer calls till days before his passing. Ron will be surely missed for his extensive knowledge in the growing of various grasses used for hay. Special thanks to family and friends for ongoing prayers and blessings. Irma (wife) and Monica (daughter) express their thanks and gratitude to Dr. Mahmoud Barazi, Dr. Valeska Balderas and Dr. David Schnaiderman and staff on 4th floor ICU at Rio Grande Regional Hospital, attending nurses and CNA’s at Amara Hospice.
