Ricardo Gonzalez

Weslaco- Ricardo Gonzales, 67, passed away on Friday, March 2nd, 2018, at Knapp Medical Center in Weslaco. He was born in Weslaco to Ramon and Santos Gonzales and grew up in Mercedes with two brothers and nine sisters. Soon after graduating from Mercedes High School, Ricardo married Diana and they would spend nearly fifty years together. They raised three boys, Hiram, Julian and Adrian. Ricardo worked for Hidalgo Irrigation District #9 for most of his career. When he was not at work, he loved to go bowling and fishing. He was a huge Dallas Cowboy fan and enjoyed watching the games with his family and friends. Ricardo was a jack of all trades and could fix anything. He was a carpenter, mechanic, plumber and electrician. He was called on to help his friends often and he was always happy to help. He is survived by his his parents, Ramon and Santos Gonzales. his loving wife, Diana, his three sons, Hiram Gonzales (Sandra), Julian Gonzales, and Adrian Gonzales, all of Weslaco, grandchildren, Alexis, Hiram Ivan, Tiffany, Nathan, and Adrian Azur Gonzales, brothers, Reynoldo Gonzales (Nellie), Ramiro Gonzales, sisters, Olivia Tafolla (Efrain), Santos Juarez (Leo), Estella Juarez, Esmeralda Juarez, Elvita Lopez (Edmundo), Elvia Gonzalez (Gilbert), Eloida Gonzalez, Eloisa Gonzalez, and Esperanza Garcia, and numerous nephews and nieces.
