Mercedes—Richard Thomas Head, a devoted family man and Army Paratrooper in the 101st Airborne Division, passed away at his home in Mercedes on July 3rd, 1934, at 84. Richard, born May 5th, 1940, in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, led a remarkable life filled with love, hard work, and faith.

During his time in the Army, Richard served with honor and courage as a member of the esteemed 101st Airborne Division. His bravery and commitment to his country will always be remembered.

After his service, Richard pursued a career as an Ironworker in both Milwaukee and California before achieving his AA Degree. His work ethic and skills were admired by all who knew him. After retiring, Richard and Adele moved to the sunny Rio Grande Valley and settled in Llano Grande RV Park in Mercedes.

Richard was known for his loving and devout nature. He always put his family first. Holidays were a special time for him; he cherished the moments spent with loved ones and friends.

A devout Catholic, Richard's faith guided him throughout his life. His passion for his wife, children, and their dogs was evident to all who knew him. He shared a unique bond with his beloved dog, Sadie, which brought him immense joy.

Richard enjoyed golfing, fishing with family members like his brother and father-in-law, and trail riding with friends in his leisure time. Richard had a special bond with his grandson J.T. that J.T. will carry on for his life and live in honor of Richard. His love for horses added another dimension to his diverse interests. He and Adele also explored the world and could travel, whether visiting children, taking a cruise, or enjoying the breathtaking sites of nature; they had a great time together.

Richard will be dearly missed by all who knew him. He leaves a legacy of love, hard work, and devotion that will continue to inspire those fortunate enough to have crossed paths with him.

Richard was preceded in death by his parents, Thomas and Patricia Head. He is survived by his loving wife of sixty-six years, Adele; daughters Deborah Craddock and Diana Cinkowski; son Jeff Head (Olga); grandchildren J.T., Jeremy, Jessica, and Jenna; and six great-grandchildren.
