Robert Michael Baldree

June 22, 1946 — October 7, 2015

EDINBURG - Robert Michael (Iron Mike) Baldree was born in Austin, Texas and passed away in Edinburg, Texas at the age of 69 years. Mike was a loving son, brother, father, grandfather, and uncle. He loved life and he dearly loved his family. Mike graduated from Douglas MacArthur High School in San Antonio, Texas in 1964 and attended Texas A&M University and Southwest Texas State University.

He was preceded in death by his father, Jasper Newton Baldree and mother, Lois Elaine (Phears) Baldree. He is survived by his son, Brent Baldree (& Melissa) of McAllen, Texas and his daughter, Patience Douglas (& David) of Riviera, Texas. He is also survived by his sisters Michele Bibb (& Barry) and Janene Tijerina (& Sam) of West Columbia, Texas. Mike was extremely proud of his 4 grandchildren, Hunter Douglas, Fischer Douglas, Sydnee Baldree and Sofia Baldree. He is also survived by numerous nephews, nieces, and cousins all over Texas.

Mike was an avid hunter and fisherman and shared this love of the outdoors with his entire family. Keeping our fond recollections of Mike in our hearts, ensures we will not forget this special person and his jovial demeanor, compassionate heart, love of family, and the innate ability to make strangers feel like old friends.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, October 10, 2015 from 10 a.m. – 11:30 a.m. at McCaleb Funeral Home in Weslaco with a Memorial Service following the Visitation.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to TIFT Endowment Fund or Palm Valley Animal Shelter.

McCaleb Funeral Home of Weslaco is in charge of his funeral arrangements.
