Rogelio Garcia, age 86, passed away on December 21, 2017. He is survived by his daughter, Diana, his first cousins, and many nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by Alicia, his wife, and his son, Rogelio Jr. Rogelio was devoted to his family and even in the midst of his life's challenges and sorrows, he found a way to make everybody smile and laugh with his humor and "ocurrencias". To all the Daniel children, he was their "Nino or Padrino" and he kept his baptismal vows to always be loving them and caring for them like a true father. He always joked that he was a godfather to half of Weslaco and he loved all of his many godchildren. Even the friends of his godchildren liked to call him "Padrino" and nothing gave him more joy. He was also very proud to be known as the "relojero" and "joyero" of the Rio Grande Valley. Eternal rest, grant unto Rogelio, o Lord, and let perpetual light shine upon him. Visitation will be held on Thursday, December 28th, from 3-9pm with a rosary at 7 pm, at McCaleb Funeral Home Chapel. A mass will be held on Friday, December 29th, at 10 am, at St Joan of Arc Catholic Church.
