Rosalinda "Rosie" Piña

WESLACO - Rosalinda "Rosie" Piña passed away peacefully at her residence surrounded by her family after a long battle with cancer at the age of 62. She was born to Eufemia Moreno and Ricardo Rivas in Edinburg. After graduating from Edinburg High School, she married Genaro Pina on August 18, 1980. She worked as a pharmacy technician where she loved helping people. Rosie lived her life happily singing, dancing, gardening, and spending time with her family. She was always an optimistic person who radiated positive energy and happiness. Her family was her life.

She is survived by her husband Genaro Pina of 42 years, and her children Adrian Rivas, Melissa Kristine Pina, Genaro Israel Pina, and Ariel Jasmine Pina. Her two grandchildren, Adrian Ismail Rivas, and Yvonne Danielle Pina, her mother Eufemia Moreno Rivas, and her siblings Ricardo Rivas JR. (Celia), Raul (Raquel) Rivas, Rene Rivas, Rogelio (Norma) Rivas, Janie (Jose) Pequeno, Sylvia (+Jesse) Zarate, with numerous nieces, nephews & several great nieces and nephews.

A viewing will be held on Wednesday, July 27, 2022 from 10am – 9pm with a 6pm Rosary at McCaleb Funeral Home in Weslaco. Celebration of life will be held on Thursday, July 28, 2022, 12pm, at her daughter’s residence (3908 Sabatini Dr. Weslaco, TX). Mass celebration will be held on Friday, July 29, 2022, 10am, at St. Joseph the Worker Catholic Church 8310 Highland Ave. Edinburg, TX.
