Progreso- Ruben García, 67, passed away on Sunday morning.
He was born on May 22, 1952 to Jose Bartolo Garcia and Maria Clara Rivas in Torreón Coahuila Mexico.
He spent the past 34 years in Progreso and was well known around the town. He walked around a lot and collected cans. He was a very simple man, enjoyed his beer and visiting with people. Ruben was loved by everyone in the small town of Progreso and was one of the nicest persons you could meet.
The smile and simplicity of his life were valued by many and his loss will be felt by everyone who knew and loved this kind man.
Ruben is preceded in death by his parents, Jose and Maria Garcia, brothers, Desiderio, Pedro, Jose, and sister, Guadalupe Garcia.
He is survived by his children, Maria Sarita, Laura Estela, José Ruben, Yanira Elizabeth, Erica Edith, and Lorena García Flores, brothers, Antonio (Elena) Garcia, Heriberto Garcia (Maria), Jose Raul, Jose Luis, and numerous nephews and nieces.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, September 19th, from 12 pm to 9 pm, with a rosary at 7 pm.
