Ruben Nieto

July 20, 1963 — June 10, 2020

Ruben grew up in Weslaco with ten siblings. They were very close and depended on each other throughout their childhood. Ruben was an athlete and played baseball and football for the Weslaco Panthers.

Shortly after high school, while Ruben was working at Carl’s grocery store with Cryselda’s brother Joe. Joe insisted that she meet him, so their love story began at Carl’s grocery store, and his instinct was appreciated.

Ruben and Cryselda were inseparable after they met. They were married in 1982 and three children together, Crissadie, Ruben, and Robby. Ruben and Cryselda enjoyed dancing and socializing together. They often wore matching clothes, just for fun.

Ruben continued his education, earning a Business Management degree. He was a route manager for numerous companies throughout his career.

Ruben was a huge Dallas Cowboy fan. In his downtime, he loved a good competitive game of chess, dominoes, or a card game. Ruben loved race cars and watching old western movies, especially John Wayne. His all-time favorite movie was the Three Amigos, and he could watch it anytime.
Ruben also loved listening to good music, oldies, country, Spanish, and Tejano. Freddy Fender was one of his favorites. Ruben and Cryselda loved to dance, and he was a great dancer.

Most of all, Ruben loved spending time with his family and friends. Some would call him a social butterfly. His wife, children, and grandchildren were all very special to him. He and his siblings remained close friends into adulthood and spent lots of time together. Ruben could light up a room, he was charming and charismatic and a magnet for people and social gatherings.

Ruben is reunited with his parents, Isidro and Maria Cruz Nieto, his daughter, Crissadie Renae Nieto, brother in law, Joe Granados, sisters in law, Lucy Rios, Gabby Aguirre, and many more.
