Rupert L. Williams, 81, of Harlingen, Texas went to be with our Lord and savior on May 9, 2015 in Harlingen, Texas.
Rupert was born on May 8, 1934 to Ollie J. Williams and Ora Castro Williams. He married his lifelong sweetheart Norma in 1957 in Albuquerque, New Mexico. They were looking forward to celebrating their 57th anniversary in August. There were blessed with the birth of their only child Jon Scott Williams while they lived in New Mexico.
Rupert retired from GAB Business Services, Inc. (SGS) in 1990 and again in 1996 from the City of Houston. Rupert and Norma traveled this beautiful country for several years before settling down in Harlingen, Texas in 2001.
Rupert is survived by his wife Norma Green, son Jon Scott and granddaughter Sydney. He is also survived by his brother Miles and sister-in-law Reba, sister Yvonne Purnell and many nieces and nephews.
He is precede in death by his Mother and Father, his brother Jack, his half-brother Robert , his half-sister Helen, his brother-in-law Dukes Purnell and his daughter-in-law Carol Williams.
Rupert served as President of the Houston Claims Association and the Texas Claims Association.
Rupert was a dedicated Elk and spent many years dedicating his life to Charity, Justice, brotherly Love and Fidelity. He served as Exalted Ruler of Clear Lake Lodge Number 2322 and proudly wore the title of Past Exalted Ruler. He also served as District Deputy Grand Exalted Ruler of the Gulf Coast of Texas District. He dedicated 49 years to Elkdom.
His virtues we write upon the Tables of Love and Memory; His faults upon the sands.
