Sidney B. Hays, Jr., Topeka, Kansas, and Alamo, Texas, passed away on Monday, February 15, 2021, at a hospital in Edinburg, Texas.
Sid was born February 17, 1945, in Topeka, Kansas, the son of Sidney B. Hays Sr. and Sarah Louise Robison Hays. He graduated from Washburn Rural High School in 1963. Sid worked at Alice Chalmers, the Railroad, and the University of Kansas in the maintenance department, from where he retired in 2006.
He married Connie Mitchell on 1-1-1995, in Eskridge, Kansas. Sid was a member of the Christian Motorcycle Association. He volunteered at the Topeka Rescue Mission and supported inmates being released from prison both spiritually and through resources, helping them find lodging and jobs. Sid and Connie sponsored an “adopted” child from Mexico that they visited whenever possible. He loved riding his motorcycle and traveling with his wife and dog.
