Socorro Lopez Berriochoa

BROWNSVILLE - Socorro Lopez Berriochoa, 92, passed at on Friday, June 17, 2016 in Brownsville. Funeral arrangements are under the care of McCaleb Funeral Home of Weslaco. Socorro was born in Mexico City on February 15th, 1924. She came back and forth from Mexico to Brownsville for many years and she finally moved to Brownsville five years ago, where she had her home built and she decorated herself. Socorro raised four boys and her main purpose in life was to keep them in line. They are all still living. Socorro is preceded in death by her parents, Jose Maria Lopez and Frias Reyes Lopez, her siblings, Jose Cruz Lopez, Carmen Lopez, Salvador Lopez, Jose Maria Lopez and Ester Lopez. She is survived by her sister, Carmella Lopez, her four sons, Guillermo (Rocio) Berriochoa, Simon (Debbie) Berriochoa, George (Mary) Berriochoa, and Carlos Berriochoa, her grandchildren, Guillermo, Mike, Kimberly, Tory, Katy, Joe, Gabriella and Adrian, numerous great grandchildren, nieces, and nephews. Socorro will always be remembered by her strong and driven nature, always keeping her sons in line. She also was a great seamstress and cook. She will be missed by all whose lives she touched.
