Donna- Soccoro Galvan, 85, passed away on Friday, September 7th, 2018 at her residence in Donna. She was born on October 13, 1932, to Gregorio Galvan and San Juanita Garcia in Mexico, where she was raised with two brothers and three sisters. Socorro spent most of her life in Mexico and raised three girls, Martha, Esther, and Criselda. When the girls grew up, they all moved to the United States. In 2003, the family brought Socorro to Donna to live, where she cared for her daughters and grandchildren. Socorro was a great cook and helped her daughters with the cooking and cleaning. She loved to have a tidy home and was glad to help her daughters do the same. She also enjoyed doing crossword puzzles and had lots of crossword books to keep her busy. Socorro is preceded in death by her parents, Gregorio and San Juanita Galvan, brothers, Julian Galvan, Juan Vidaurri, sisters, Gregoria Galvan and Josefina Mendoza, and grandson, Juan Jose Silva. She is survived by her three daughters, Martha Silva, Esther Lozoya (Jose), and Criselda Garcia, all of Donna, sister, Ofelia Guerra, grandchildren, Flor Villarreal, Marco Alejandro Lozoya, Nancy Gomez, Monica Silva, Jaime Silva, Cristal Garcia, Cristina Garcia, and Juan Garcia, and twelve great-grandchildren. Socorro will always be remembered for her smiling face, caring heart, and love for her family.
