Sylvia J. Cardenas Gonzalez

WESLACO - Sylvia J. Cardenas Gonzalez was born to Felecitas and Esteban Cardenas October 3, 1935 (11 siblings) .She attended St. Joan of Arc Catholic School through her senior year and went on to work in social services with JTPA & MHMRA. She retired at an early age and committed herself to learn more about her faith while dedicating time to prayer and meditation. She spent time in scripture every day and loved reciting the Rosary, Novenas, teaching her children the word of God. She went to be with our Lord on March 30, 2016 at Knapp Medical center in Weslaco, Texas with loved ones at her bedside. She was called home after a short battle with illness.

Knowing one day she would depart from this earth, she instilled in her children the direction that they should go. She continued Blessing her children from her hospital bed in ICU. She left her generations in good hands (Our Heavenly Father).

She was preceded in death by siblings: Florentino Cardenas, Esteban Cardenas, Jr., Maximiliano Cardenas, her sons Rodolfo Gonzalez and Guillermo “Bill” Gonzalez.

She is survived by: Richard Briones, Children: Jose Antonio Gonzalez, Xavier (Imelda) Gonzalez, Francisco Gonzalez, and Sylvia (Sam) Gonzalez, Diana (Bruce) Johnson, Cynthia Gonzalez, Linda (Jose) Hinojosa, MaryAnn Hutchinson along with several grandchildren, nephews, and nieces. Her life was filled with so much love, peace, and kindness. Her presence will be dearly missed………
