Mercedes- Veronica Anel Franceschi, 49, passed away on Monday, December 19th, 2022, at Knapp Medical Center in Weslaco. Veronica was born on December 1st, 1973, in San Juan, Texas, to Juan S. and Rosalba (Alvizo) Aguayo. She and her two older brothers grew up in Florida, and Veronica graduated from Santaluces High School.
Veronica was a caregiver by nature and loved taking care of her older brothers. So when her parents entered their elderly years, Veronica didn’t hesitate. She packed up her two daughters and asked her employer, Target, for a transfer. Veronica and her daughters moved in with her parents in Mercedes in 2010.
Veronica loved to spend time with her family at home. However, she had a weekly “mother-daughter day” with her youngest daughter every Friday, and they would go to a movie or dinner and kept this tradition going for over a decade. Veronica loved her tv shows, especially her soap operas and novelas.
Veronica was very responsible and the breadwinner for her family. She took her job seriously and worked as much as she could. She also loved her job and her co-workers and rarely missed a shift.
Besides being a caregiver and dedicated employee, Veronica was funny and had a natural wit that lit up the room. She was humble and wishes to have a simple memorial service, which will be held on Friday, December 23rd, 2022, from 5-7 pm at McCaleb Funeral Home in Weslaco.
Veronica is preceded in death by her brother, Juan Eduardo Aguayo. She is survived by her parents, Juan and Rosalba Aguayo; daughters, Jasmine Aguayo (Jerry Garcia), Jaleen Franceschi; brothers, Jose Aguayo and Hector Aguayo (Yanina) of Boynton Beach, Florida, her grandsons, Romeo and Josiah, and nieces and nephew, Yenina, Alysia, Ysabela, and Marco.
