Weslaco- Virgilio G. Beltran passed away on Friday, July 15th, 2022 in his home surrounded by his family at the age of 82 years old.
He was born on March 13, 1940, in General Teran, Nuevo Leon to Sotero and Matilde (Garcia) Beltran. He met and married Esther Rocha, a widow, with 8 children. She then bore him 6 children, and together they became a blended family of 16. He loved his family deeply, showing respect for their joint family arrangement.
Virgilio was an industrious man! He worked in construction for Fisher Pipeline as a skilled backhoe operator. He was employed 49 years with the family-owned business, working through 3 generations, and rarely missing a day of work!
Virgilio was artistic and imaginative, often repurposing any type of material to build crafts of all sorts, such as playhouses for his grandchildren, or his famous salt shakers and wind chimes.
As a father, and grandparent, Virgilio would encourage all to continue their education. He was determined to make sure his sons, daughters, and grandchildren did all they could to study and apply themselves toward developing the skills they'd need to be self-sufficient. He supported them in many ways and always took tremendous pride in all their accomplishments.
Virgilio enjoyed family cookouts and gatherings! He was well known for his pinto beans and his delicious buñuelos! He loved his everyday meals with his sister, where they’d sit outside his man cave and talk about everything. Most of all, he enjoyed Sunday breakfast, he never failed to be there.
As the family patriarch, he will be greatly missed, but always loved.
Virgilio is preceded in death by his parents, Sotero and Matilde, his beloved wife, Esther, and his stepson Joel Hernandez.
He is survived by his sisters, Conception Beltran and Maria (Lalo+) Cantu, and his loving children, Matilde (Robert) Vargas, Rodrigo (Imelda) Beltran, Virgilio (Cecilia) Beltran Jr, Belinda (Fabian) Guerrero, Mary Lou (Eddie) Cantu, Catarina (Mario) Vela, Jose (Carolyn) Garcia, Helen (Charles+) Rumsey, Rosie (Robert) Rivera, Sylvia (Felix+) Quintanilla, Javier (Emma Rodriguez) Garcia, Jeannie (Zaid+) Uddin, and George (Lina) Garcia, his 28 grandchildren, and 27 great-grandchildren.
